Last season, the Golden State Warriors became the winningest team in NBA regular season history as they finished with 73-9 win-loss record. But they lost to the NBA Finals in the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers in a grueling seven game series. This season, expectations are higher for the Dubs as they got Kevin Durant in the 2016 free agency.

But the Dubs already learned their lessons last season. Despite having higher expectations this season, they said that they will not try to surpass the record that they set last season. Instead, their focus is to win an NBA Championship. But as expected, the Warriors became a better team than last year.

With a 36-6 win-loss record, they currently holds the best record in the NBA with a 3.5 games gap over second place San Antonio Spurs. They already won five straight games including key wins against the Cleveland Cavaliers and Oklahoma City Thunder. The Dubs led the league in certain major categories such as points, assists, field-goal percentage, blocks and steals.

For the Warriors to sign Kevin Durant, they let go of some of their longtime players like Harrison Barnes, Andrew Bogut, Marreese Speights and Leandro Barbosa. Shaun Livingston, Andre Iguodala and Ian Clark remained with the Dubs. But according to GOLDEN STATE OF MIND, Tiago Splitter of the Atlanta Hawks was a possible buyout for the Warriors.

Tiago Splitter still didn't play a single game for the Hawks this season because of a hamstring strain injury. The injury that Splitter sustained was supposed to be healed in six weeks time. He was initially expected to play this week. But his progress is slower than expected and might return after the All-Star break, as per CBS Sports.

Although currently injured, Splitter could provide some added championship experience for the Dubs. He was a starter for the 2013-2014 championship team of the San Antonio Spurs. He became the first Brazilian-born player to win an NBA title.

Splitter was drafted as the 28th overall pick in the 2007 NBA draft by the San Antonio Spurs. He average 8.0 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 347 career NBA regular season games.

The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors are the greatest rivals of today's NBA. Many fans and experts believed that they will meet again in the NBA Finals for the third straight time. With the Cavs signing of three-point specialist Kyle Korver, many are wondering what move the Dubs are going to make. Is the acquisition of Tiago Splitter their next move?
