The Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors were both victorious on Sunday night. LeBron James made history in the Cavaliers big win over Russell Westbrook and Oklahoma City Thunder at the Quickens Loan Arena.

The Warriors, on the other hand, were without Stephen Curry in the close win against the Portland Trail Blazers. Curry, who is the reigning MVP of the league, missed his first game of the season on Sunday due to an illness.

LeBron James makes history in win versus OKC

"King James" became the first Cavaliers player to score 20,000 points for the franchise, per ESPN. He just needed six points to accomplish the feat entering the game and he did it early in the second quarter with an easy layup.

"I'm blessed I've played with some great teammates in this uniform the last three years and obviously my first seven in the league. Those guys set screens for me, they rebound the ball, kick it to me, they work their tails off for me to be able to put up 20,000 as a Cav," James told reporters after the game.

James finished the game with a near triple-double as he scored 25 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and recorded eight assists. Kyrie Irving added 29 points and ten assists in the 107-91 win. Russell Westbrook still put up a triple-double in the loss with 20 points, 12 rebounds and ten assists.

Steph Curry-less Warriors escape Portland with win

The Warriors was able to survive against the Blazers without Curry, who was suffering from stomach flu, The Mercury News reported. Kevin Durant exploded for 33 points, six rebounds and six assists in the 113-111 win.

Klay Thompson added 27 points and six rebounds while Shaun Livingston put up six points and three rebounds in Curry's place. Andre Iguodala had 13 points, five assists and two steals off the bench. Curry is expected to be back on Wednesday when the Warriors host the Charlotte Hornets at Oracle Arena.

C.J. McCollum had 28 points and seven rebounds for the Blazers. Damian Lillard had a quiet game with 19 points and eight assists. Evan Turner, who is not a good shooter, missed the game-winning corner three at the buzzer.
