Floyd Mayweather Accused Of Cheating In Draw Against Badou Jack-James DeGale

James DeGale's trainer Jim McDonnell has reportedly accused Floyd Mayweather Jr. of using illegal tricks during the Briton's draw with Badou Jack, claiming that the former five-division world champion was checking the scorecards regularly between the rounds.

The 56-year old trainer, who was once a world title challenger, is quite adamant to the fact that his man should have won the fight in New York. One of the judge felt that the Londoner was the winner with a scoreline of 114-112, while the other two judges deemed it as a 113-113 draw. This result meant that both men retained their super-middleweight titles.

The result has left DeGale's trainer very aggrieved, and has suggested that Mayweather - who is mentoring the Swedish fighter actually, was trying to influence officials throughout the fight. He complained saying One of the things that he needs is to double-check that he was told that Mayweather was checking the scorecards off the judges in-between rounds, that's an illegal offence according to the trainer.

The former featherweight and super-featherweight alleged "but he was trying to say to Badou Jack after one of the rounds, 'man, you're one down, you gotta' win the next round." The trainer was also unhappy with the way Jack's corner behaved just before the fight. He claims that members of Mayweather's team had attempted to ban DeGale's entourage from reaching their corner of the ring.

McDonnell further said he is thinking on a Mayweather bill in America, against an American-based fighter with three American judges. James DeGale showed great mental strength and he won that fight.

Immediately after the fight, DeGale also demanded a re-match on home soil, as he looks to unify the IBF and WBC titles following the stalemate in the Big Apple. It is unlikely however that the pair will fight again though, much to the anger of McDonnell.
