Just days after questioning his team's effort, Carmelo Anthony termed the New York Knicks performance against San Antonio at Madison Square Garden on Sunday "embarrassing."

The Knicks dropped to 2-4 in the wake of a 31-point drubbing at the hands of the Spurs that by the end of the day had Garden faithful booing their team off the court.

"It was embarrassing for us to come here on our home court and lose a game like this," Anthony, held to just 16 points, told ESPN. "It wasn't about losing a game. It was just how we lost the game. We didn't compete today, and it showed out there on the court."

Anthony won't get any argument from coach Mike Woodson after he witnessed the Knicks suffer their worst lost in his 112-game tenure.

"We didn't compete tonight," he told ESPN. "That's just unacceptable. Right from the start, we let our offense, shots that we missed, dictate how we defended on the other end."

The Knicks quickly found themselves in a 10-0 hole and trailed by as many as 37 point in dropping to 1-3 at home.

"No. No. Not at all," said woodson when asked if he felt his time showed any pride. "It's something that will be addressed in Monday's practice. It's just unacceptable. It's my job to push them through it and try to get them over the hump. I know we're a better team than what we've shown."

Woodson added he'll now consider lineup changes to get his team on track. The Knicks recently lost All-Star center Tyson Chandler to a broken right tibia and have since utilized a two-guard lineup.

"You got to keep pushing guys until you find the right combination that works," Woodson told ESPN. "Our last three home outings have been awful the first half. Something that's very uncharacteristic of our team. That shouldn't be. You should feel good about playing at home in front of your fans. They pay their hard-earned money to see us play and we should give them something to play for, and we haven't done that."

Added Anthony "this city and ... this organization, is not known for being patient. But right now we have to figure it out. If patience is the way to go, then patient we have to be. There's no panic button being pushed right now. We have to figure it out."
