Google released the Android 7.0 Nougat last year in the month of August. Samsung was earlier seen rolling out the beta program of Android 7.0 Nougat and presently it has been reported that the update already hit the Samsung Galaxy S7 an S7 edge smartphones.

The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge owners who participated in the Android Nougat beta program already received the official OTA of the latest version of Nougat.

According to GSM Arena, it is reported that the Android 7.0 Nougat for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users was officially released on January 17, 2017, and many owners have already confirmed the receiving of the update. Internet was already seen with reports of handsets receiving the major update on unlocked models (SM-G930F and SM-G935F), many of which are in the UK.

It is also reported that a user on Reddit confirmed that Galaxy S7 update will be rolling out to carrier units starting Monday, January 23, 2017. Also, the unlocked devices in the US, China, and few other countries are starting to see the Nougat update appear over-the-air (OTA).

It is also clearly specified that the Nougat update for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones is Android 7.0.1 and not Android 7.1.1. Users have to wait for official announcements from the company for next update.

According to The Engadget, it is reported that the users of Samsung galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones will experience a lot of features enhanced in the new Android 7.0.1 Nougat update.

The features include the update of a user interface of the Quick Panel with a cleaner look, and the icons are now grouped to make them easier to find, allows users to access the new Direct Reply feature for notifications, which enables reply to a message notification without leaving another app.

Also, Nougat update brings in multi-window support with the ability to adjust the split-screen view, and a new pop-up window feature to allow up to 7 apps to run side-by-side at the same time.
