Manny Pacquiao enters the final two weeks of training for his comeback fight against American-Mexican Brandon Rios in Macau in "perfect shape" according to his trainer, Hall of Famer Freddie Roach.

This was bared by Roach to Philboxing.com as the eight-division world champion completed the first eight weeks of training at his own gym in his hometown of General Santos City in southern Philippines.

"We're having a great camp and Manny's back in his razor-sharp self," Roach was quoted as saying.

Roach added that starting Monday, Pacquiao will slow down and focus on maintaining all the gains he has achieved during his two-month training in his hometown.
"There's nothing more to achieve. Everything is there. Power, speed. coordination, all that Manny needed to recover," Roach said. He also credited conditioning coach Gavin Macmillian for making Pacquiao more impressive in training.

The report added that two other sparring partners were sent home because Pacquiao had achieved his goals during the training. Only two sparring partners- Filipino Dan Nazareno and Irish Liam Vaughan remain with the team. Roach said they will leave for Macau on November 18, only six days prior to the match.

Pacquiao is itching to prove that he is not yet over-the-hill after his two shocking defeats last year. He lost a controversial decision to American Timothy Bradley, Jr., a fight that many observes felt that belonged to Pacquiao. The Filipino boxing icon was then stopped by Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez in a fight where he was comfortably ahead.
