In the wake of the Jonathan Martin bullying scandal in the NFL, the NBA has issued a memo to all 30 teams reminding players that no form of bullying or hazing is allowed in the league per sources of ESPN.com.

Marc Stein of ESPN.com reports that the action made by the league is in response to the ongoing bullying scandal involving the Miami Dolphins. The league is encouraging its players to report any incident wherein they felt that league policies were violated.

"The lengthy list of violations, sources said, includes: any physical abuse or threats of violence; verbal abuse focused on an individual's race, nationality, color, gender, age, religion, sexuality, etc.; destruction, defacement or theft of a fellow player's personal property; engaging in any activity that intimidates or threatens fellow players with ostracism or inflicts extreme mental stress, embarrassment, humiliation or shame; and forcing an individual to engage in any activity or perform any task that violates federal, state or local law or NBA rules and regulations," Stein wrote in his article.

ESPN sources also said that the NBA prohibits its players from being forced to pay for meals, travels, entertainment or goods and services that are solely enjoyed by others. The league also bans physical activities on players that may lead to unreasonable risk or adverse effects on their safety like exposure to weather, consumption of food or substance and confinement in a restricted area.

Last week, Martin left his team after claiming that he was harassed by his teammates.
