Johnny Manziel vowed to stay sober starting July 1 and now he's made a new oath: he'll be back.

The former Browns quarterback has been looking for a new NFL home since the Browns cut him back in March, but a string of partying has interfered with his career as he continues to get in his own way.

Manziel, however, doesn't want anyone to count him out. The former Heisman Trophy winner took to Instagram and posted a video while promising he'll return to the NFL in the caption.

"You all write about a day in my life and what goes on...here it is," Manziel wrote in the Instagram post. "No secrets, no hiding, I''m not what you read about. I'll be back... In time. It can't end like this...it won't. I love you all even though your comments suck."

Manziel has been in the news cycle nonstop for all the wrong reasons over the last few months. From drinking in public to rampant rumors of drug use, it has appeared doubtful that the quarterback will ever return to the gridiron.

The 23-year-old former quarterback, has had many issues steering clear of the party scene and was also recently indicted by a Dallas jury for an alleged physical altercation with his ex-girlfriend, model Colleen Crowley.

The former quarterback was also recently sued for allegedly causing $32,000 worth of damage to a home he and his party pals rented for a two-day alcohol and drug-fueled binge in Los Angeles.

Manziel's father, Paul, has also gone on record referring to him as a "druggie" and said he hoped he'd end up in jail, something which was mocked by the former signal caller on Instagram during a Cabo vacation.

Due to his wayward ways, Manziel has been cut by the Browns, had two agents drop him and had a lawyer leak pertinent information about just how intense his drug problem is this offseason. He also was involved in at least two vehicular incidents.

Manziel, nonetheless, has vowed to sober up and make it back to the NFL.

After a promising college career, Manziel's NFL resume includes just 15 games (eight starts). The quarterback owns a 57.0 completion percentage and has thrown for 1,675 yards with seven touchdowns and seven interceptons.

He took to Twitter to apologize to Texas A&M and once again promised to get back in the game:
