Following a stunning Game 7 defeat and a blown 3-1 series lead, Kevin Durant wasn't ready to face the future.

The Warriors handed the Thunder a 96-88 defeat in Game 7 on Monday as Golden State marched on to its second straight NBA Finals. Oklahoma City dropped three straight games to blow the Western Conference finals.

Now that the Thunder have missed out on making their first trip to the final round since 2012, a lot of the focus shifts to Durant, who is set to hit free agency on July 1. After the loss in Game 7, Durant wasn't ready to discuss the unknown.

"To be honest, I promise you I haven't thought about that," Durant told USA Today Sports after the Game 7 defeat. "It's hard to think about that. Especially right now, especially when you're battling every single day. It's hard. Give me a couple weeks and talk to me then, but I just don't know right know, man."

Durant led the Thunder with 27 points in the loss and averaged 28.4 points per game throughout the playoffs. The Thunder shockingly ousted the Spurs in Round 2, but fell one win short of an upset over two-time NBA MVP Stephen Curry and the defending champions.

That's why after Game 7, Durant was focused on the lost opportunity and not where he'll end up next season.

"I'm upset (about losing), but I'm the leader of this team," Durant said. "I'm the leader of this franchise, and I've got to go out and represent everyone. I've got to win with class and dignity, and I've also got to lose with the same class and dignity."

Durant, 27, has spent his entire nine-year career with the Thunder after being drafted in the second round by them back when they were the SuperSonics based in Seattle.

A seven-time All-Star and 2014 NBA MVP, Durant has averaged 27.4 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists throughout his career.
