Hulk Hogan, arguably the biggest superstar in the history of the World Wrestling Entertainment, has verbally agreed to return to the WWE as the latter prepares for the 30th anniversary of its flagship event Wrestlemania.

According to Examiner.com, Hogan has reached a verbal agreement with the WWE that will have him return to a WWE ring sometime next year, perhaps in January. There are also rumors that Hogan will be a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble.

"We knew this would happen at some point. It's my understanding that there isn't a contract in place, but there's a verbal agreement that will move forward. It's just a good fit for everybody involved, especially with the milestone WrestleMania 30 coming up. Hogan needed to finish up his stuff with TNA and just come home," the source of Examiner.com was quoted as saying.

Speculations about the return of Hogan to WWE have been ripe for months especially with his image emphatically shown in promotions of its latest video game. Hogan carried the WWE during the 80s, and as its biggest star made Wrestlemania the most important wrestling event in the calendar.

Hogan has been out of the WWE since 2005. His last high-profile match was against Shawn Michaels during the main event of Summerslam. For the past years, he has been contented playing a character in second-tier promotion company TNA. However, he remains a very charismatic legend whose appeal to wrestling fans in the 30s and 40s age demographic is important to the WWE.
