Today at 1:00 p.m. the New York Jets (4-4) will attempt to put their Week 8 drubbing behind them when they host the high-powered New Orleans Saints (6-1) at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. While the focus will be on the Jets' ability to contain quarterback Drew Brees, who tossed five touchdown passes last week against Buffalo, the Saints' defense has quietly excelled in 2013.

"When you have the league's worst defense a year ago and you have the same players, people think that those players that were playing in that scheme were terrible," Saints linebacker Curtis Lofton said. "So you get a new defensive coordinator that comes in and plays to the strengths of players in this locker room, and guys are playing out there confident, playing fast ... like it's a whole different team."

That defense will pose difficulty for Jets rookie Geno Smith, who has been inconsistent this year. Last week was a poor one, in which he threw two interceptions that were returned for touchdowns.

"I'm the type of guy that's always going to put it behind me because you can't get it back," Smith said. "It's come and gone. As bad as I want to take some of those throws back, to have some of those plays back, you can't get them back."

This matchup's biggest intrigue is a sideline battle, however, between Jets head coach Rex Ryan and his twin brother Rob, who is New Orleans' defensive coordinator and the orchestrator of their brand new solid D.
