Miami Heat superstar LeBron James has a long history with Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Garnett, going all the way back to their Boston Celtics-Cleveland Cavaliers rivalry when Garnett battled James in numerous playoff match-ups several years ago.

Earlier in the preseason, James commented on Garnett and Paul Pierce's transfer to the Nets wondering why the two did not catch as much heat compared with his teammate Ray Allen's departure from the Celtics two years ago.

"Tell LeBron to worry about Miami," Garnett fired back at James after hearing the comments. "He has nothing to do with Celtics business. Next question."

So when LeBron was asked this time about the Brooklyn Nets minutes before the Heat played Garnett and company, the four-time league MVP apparently heeded KG's advice.

"I worry about our team," James was quoted as saying by ESPN.com when asked about Brooklyn's size. "I'm not answering no questions about the Nets. KG already told me to worry about my own team."

The Heat and Nets have been engaging in a fierce exchange of words, fueling what could be one of the most intense rivalries in the NBA today. Earlier, Nets guard Deron Williams declared that his team is better than the two-time defending NBA champions.

"I think in order for us to be able to beat them this year, we have to feel like we are a better team and we can beat them. And I think we do," he earlier told ESPN.com.

Also during a preseason game, Pierce delivered a play-off-like foul against James, who was barreling toward the basket.

The Nets beat the Heat, 101-100, that snapped its 13-game losing streak against Miami.
