Justin Verlander and Kate Upton are set to get married.

In what may have been the most low-profile engagement ever, the gorgeous model showed off her ring Monday night, revealing that the Tigers right-hander popped the question recently.

Upton showed off the huge rock during the Met Gala in New York City on Monday night as she walked the red carpet, according to TMZ. Verlander is currently under a $180 million contract with the Tigers, which he signed in 2013.

Upton, who has graced the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue on a few occasions throughout her career, has admitted to being a big baseball fan. Though Verlander has a rigorous travel schedule, the couple has managed to keep the spark alive.

"The season is very long, but we try to get the most of our off days," Upton told TMZ last month. "But luckily, I enjoy watching baseball."

Upton also had a very memorable offseason as she admitted to wanting to make out with a horse and also injured herself in one of the weirdest possible ways -- playing cornhole with her parents.

The couple has been together since 2011, but they split briefly last year before getting back together. Verlander, 33, and Upton, 23, also enjoyed a trip to Las Vegas together in the offseason, though it's unclear when and where the engagement went down.

On the field, Detroit is 14-10 this season, good enough for second in the AL Central behind the surprising White Sox (18-8).

Though his personal life is flourishing and he gave Upton a huge diamond, Verlander has struggled on the baseball diamond this season. The right-hander is 2-2 with a 5.46 ERA.
