It's a pivotal swing game as the Celtics and Hawks Round 1 NBA playoff series shifts back to Atlanta for Game 5 tied 2-2.
The home team has won every game of this series as Atlanta took Games 1 and 2 on their home court and Boston won Games 3 and 4 at the TD Garden. It took overtime to decide the latest game as the Celtics toppled the Hawks 104-95 in the extra quarter in Game 4 on Sunday.
Isaiah Thomas had a team-best 28 points in the win for Boston. Paul Millsap put up a game-high 45 points and 13 rebounds in the loss for Atlanta. Thomas (22.2) and Millsap (17.1) have led their respective clubs in points per game all season long.
The Celtics were down 62-46 in the third quarter of Game 4 -- including a 14-0 run by the Hawks to start the second half --but were able to rally and force overtime.
"I think one of our most redeeming qualities as a team is the guys are really -- they're fighters," Celtics coach Brad Stevens said, according to ESPN. "They never give up. They play to the end, even in games where we didn't really have it they've done that."
While Millsap was able to shine in the first half of Sunday's game, the Celtics were able to adjust and shut the Hawks down as the game wore on.
"They got us out of whack," Hawks guard Kyle Korver said via ESPN. "They put Marcus Smart on Paul and we just tried to force it to him and at times took us out of what we had been doing. Give them credit. They played really well and made some plays down the stretch."
