Lamar Odom is a man of determination, and he refuses to give up on his dreams.
The two-time NBA champion suffered a near-fatal overdose in October at a Nevada brothel, but has made a miraculous recovery. He also wants to take it a step further.
After nearly losing his life, Odom continues to make progress, but he wants to return to the court someday. He also refuses to throw in the towel on rekindling his romance with estranged wife Khloe Kardashian.
"I've never been better," Odom told Entertainment Tonight about his health while watching former teammate Kobe Bryant play in his final game Wednesday. "[I want to] get back on the court. I still got it. I can [still play]."
Odom, 36, hasn't played in the NBA since 2013 and also talked about several rumors going around about him that aren't true.
"It gets tough," Odom said. "Especially with so much s--t being speculated. Only a few people know the truth, and I just keep that close to my heart."
It had appeared that Odom was close to getting back together with Kardashian, but his recent bouts with drinking have caused his wife to once again decide to go through with their divorce. The reality star halted proceedings after Odom's near-fatal overdose to make medical decisions for him and support him financially.
While the two have been spotted out in public together, it seems there will be no full-on reunion anytime soon.
"I mean, we can talk," Odom said. "Everything is under discussion. We can talk about anything. We've been through a lot, so it won't ever stop."
During Bryant's final game, in which the "Black Mamba" put up 60 points on an NBA record 50 shot attempts, Odom flew his children Lamar Jr. and Destiny in to join him. It was the first time they'd seen their father since a December hospital visit, according to TMZ.
Bryant was reportedly instrumental in having Odom bring his kids to the game, while Kim Kardashian's husband Kanye West was also in attendance.
The Lakers won the contest, 101-96, as Bryant put on a performance that may keep inspiring Odom to eye a return.
