The race for the Capital One Cup continues today at 3:45 p.m. when Tottenham Hotspur hosts Hull City at White Hart Lane in England in a matchup that can be live streamed here.
Tottenham manager Andres Villas-Boas lashed out at the team's fans for their lukewarm support of the club last week, and is hoping for an increased turnout with the volume turned up in this Capital One Cup clash.
The coach said the "negative" atmosphere made his team feel as if they were the road team at White Hart Lane. According to ESPNFC.com, the reaction to his comments was mixed, with many supporters retorting that the Spurs should play more "attractive football."
Much like Newcastle who also plays today, Tottenham will be making changes in its lineup due to its packed schedule. "We will introduce changes but the difference this season is that we have the quality available to throw in a very good team," Villas-Boas said.
"We will definitely do lots of changes because the schedule has been quite tight. We will have played Thursday, Sunday and Wednesday. We want to continue to do well and we have a responsibility at home to go through. We have the team to do it, so naturally the changes will happen."
Hull City has dealt with injuries all year, and today's match is rough timing with their focus on surviving in the Barclays Premier League. Still, Hull has good depth which will need to be on display. "It's a squad game nowadays, you can't rely on 11 players in a season or you're going to be struggling. There's going to be injuries," Hull manager Steve Bruce said.
"You need to utilize the squad because you can't play the same 11 week in, week out. You've got to have a strong 18 or 22 players who, when called upon, have got to do a job. I think the lads who came in (on Sunday) did that."
