Add Aaron Rodgers to the list of UFO believers.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Rodgers claimed in an interview on "You Made It Weird" podcast that he saw an unidentified flying object in New Jersey back in 2005.

Rodgers said that he was scheduled to appear on ESPN's Cold Pizza show -- now known as First Take -- in February 2005 and visited a friend in New Jersey. According to the 32-year-old quarterback, even his friend Steve and Steve's brother saw the unidentified moving object.

"It was a large orange, left-to-right-moving object," said Rodgers, who compared the incident to a scene in the "Independence Day" movie. "Because of the overcast nature of the night and the snow, you couldn't make out. It was kind of behind the clouds we were seeing, but it was definitively large, moving from left to right."

The UFO quickly vanished but they knew afterwards that it could really be a UFO sighting because of the things that happened next. Rodgers said that they heard several fighter jets in the area, which could mean that authorities were also aware of the foreign object and tried to chase it.

"If you know anything about UFO sightings or if you've done research, you know that a lot of times two things are connected to UFO sightings: One, is the presence of fighter jets to chase them down. Two, is there's a lot of sightings around nuclear power plants," Rodgers continued. "The alarm we heard was from 30 miles out."

Rodgers added that there were no news about it the following day, but they are quite sure about what they experienced. In fact, Rodgers said that he talked to his friend about the incident. Rodgers' friend, who is a teammate in college, reportedly told the quarterback that he is still regularly thinking of what they saw.
