Drew Rosenhaus may be the answer to Jerry Jones' prayers.

Just as the Dallas Cowboys' hometown newspaper lamented the dearth of backup quarterback due to the implosion of NFL Europe, mercurial quarterback Johnny Manziel has hired the super agent in hopes of showing the NFL that he is ready to get life in order.

Just like the Cowboys wanted.

"Desperate for a veteran backup for an aging Tony Romo, the Cowboys saw their offseason short list evaporate with the quick departure from the marketplace of Colt McCoy and Chase Daniel to division rivals," Dallas Morning News columnist Rick Gosselin wrote. "McCoy re-signed with the Redskins, and Daniel jumped from Kansas City to the Philadelphia Eagles. Both received three-year deals, with McCoy signing for $9 million and Daniel $21 million.

"The Cowboys believed they could still get Matt Moore, a one-time training camp cut, on the cheap. But Moore, a nine-year veteran who hadn't started a game in four seasons with the Dolphins, chose to re-sign with Miami for $3.5 million over two years rather than return to Dallas.

"Now what? There are few, if any, quality arms to be found. And the NFL has only itself to blame."

And like a (potential) godsend, Manziel decided get back in the game by hiring Rosenhaus.

All Rosenhaus has to do is get the jilted former Cleveland Browns first-round pick is to return to rehab to combat a substance abuse program.

Manziel also likely will have to abandon what Fox Sports radio host Colin Cowherd called his "TMZ tour" behind to get the Cowboys to take a chance on him.

But the news of Manziel getting Rosenhaus on his team has to be positive news to Jones and the Cowboys management.
