While the Golden State Warriors may or may not be having actual conversations about whether adding soon-to-be Oklahoma City Thunder free agent Kevin Durant would help them, another suitor may have entered the fray for his services.

The San Antonio Spurs.

Thunder Broke Up Kevin Durant-Russell Westbrook-James Harden Roster Because Of Harden's Partying, Report

The Spurs may be entering the Durant sweepstakes this summer, according to Yahoo Sports.

"The fight for Durant doesn't formally begin until July, but make no mistake: Teams are already gearing up," Yahoo Sports reported. "The coming spike in the salary cap has created a landscape for which nobody prepared. Golden State is considered a realistic option, San Antonio is lurking in the weeds, and it's widely believed Boston will make its way onto Durant's radar in the coming months. Indeed, a Bachelor-like courtship is set to commence."

LeBron James To Spurs Possible If Kevin Durant Signs With Warriors

"... San Antonio has rebuilt its dynasty, but rival executives believe the Spurs will explore ways of adding Durant to the mix, and the franchise's culture makes it intriguing."

It's a safe bet that the Spurs management isn't arguing over whether adding Durant makes sense. And "management" refers to San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich.

The other intriguing aspect of the Yahoo Sports article is that Durant wants to have a free agency courtship similar to the one James enjoyed in 2010 when he jilted the hometown Cleveland Cavaliers to join a super team in Miami with Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade.

"Durant is looking forward to being recruited, to being courted, to being treated like the biggest free-agent prize since LeBron James six years ago," Yahoo Sports added. "The chances of Durant sending a simple tweet again announcing his return are virtually nonexistent, but the Thunder remain hopeful that his decision, regardless of how this season ends, is the same."

Oklahoma City can offer a higher long-term contract than any other franchise because it can exceed the cap as owner of Durant's Larry Bird rights. The Thunder also are prepared to offer Durant a one-year deal so that he can make more money in 2017 when the salary cap goes up about $20 million.

The only thing certain at this point is that the Warriors better stop the idiotic conversations of whether Durant will help them - the answer is yes! - and focus on doing what they can to out-pitch the hometown Thunder and the rival Spurs.
