Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight contender Michael Bisping believes he deserves a title shot after his impressive victory over Anderson Silva at UFC Night 84 in February.

Bisping said in an interview with The MMA Hour that he should be considered for a title fight, citing the case of Nate Diaz, who is being lined up among possible foes of UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler after scoring a submission win over Conor McGregor at UFC 196.

"Nate Diaz is looking at maybe getting a title shot against Robbie Lawler for beating a 145'r. Regardless of who that 145'r was, now he gets a welterweight title shot?" Bisping said. "Come on man, I just beat Anderson Silva."

Bisping committed costly mistakes during his match against Silva, but the 37-year-old managed to recover and ran away with a unanimous decision win over the former undisputed UFC middleweight champion. And after getting past Silva, the England native wants nothing but a title.

"I just beat Anderson Silva and I think that sells it in itself," Bisping continued. "I have won four out of five, I've fought nothing but the best fighters in the world, and people have had title shots for."

Bisping will have to wait, though, as reigning UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold is scheduled to defend his title against former titleholder Chris Weidman at UFC 199 on June 4.

Bisping wants to face the winner of the bout. He quickly added that he expects another win for Rockhold, which will pave the way for a possible Bisping-Rockhold rematch later this year.

"I think Luke Rockhold beats Chris Weidman again," Bisping said. "No disrespect to Chris, he was a great champion and is a great fighter. I think Rockhold gets the job done, again, and I would like that rematch."

Bisping took a devastating second-round submission loss to Rockhold at UFC Fight Night 55 in November 2014. But after the loss to Rockhold via Guillotine Choke, the Wolfslair Academy star has now won three consecutive matches - against CB Dollaway in April last year, Thales Leites in July and Silva last month.
