The teasing is over, John Cena will not be at WrestleMania 32.
Much like his girlfriend, WWE Diva Nikki Bella, an injury will keep the "Cenation" leader from participating at the biggest show of the year. Cena has competed at every WrestleMania since the 20th edition in 2004. He made his first appearance at the show a year prior in a non-wrestling role.
John Cena Could Be Teasing Engagement To Nikki Bella
"For the first time in a decade in a half, this year I will be watching WrestleMania," Cena said per WrestlingInc. "WrestleMania means the world to me."
It's good to finally get a clear-cut answer from the 15-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn Is A Must For WrestleMania
Cena has played coy with his status for the last couple of months, often firing off cryptic tweets. Though he is a notoriously quick healer, an April 3 return after undergoing shoulder surgery in January always appeared to be ridiculous.
Bella is also definitely out as she underwent neck surgery in January. Both are expected to return to full health in order to compete, but neither will be able to wrestle at AT&T Stadium in Texas.
Cena has been known to pull off surprise comebacks, such as in 2008 when he was expected to miss WrestleMania XXIV, but returned earlier than expected to win the Royal Rumble Match that January.
This year, however, he won't be able to pull off another miracle. The face of the franchise will miss the marquee event.
