As Peyton Manning rides off into the sunset, Tom Brady gets ready for the next phase of his career -- one that won't have Manning as an AFC rival for the first time.

So the head-to-head numbers won't change. Manning finishes 3-2 against Brady in the playoffs and 6-11 against him overall (though he was 6-5 against him since the 2005 season).

Broncos Ready To Move Forward With Brock Osweiler

Brady, 38, has won four Super Bowls, appeared in two others, was the MVP of the Super Bowl three times and is a two-time regular season MVP.

Manning, who turns 40 later this month, has won two Super Bowls (he was the MVP of one) and is a five-time regular season MVP.

Rams Would've Been Only Logical Choice If Peyton Wanted To Keep Playing

Manning holds most of the career passing records, including yards (71,940) and touchdowns (539), and is tied with Brett Favre for most regular season wins (186).

But Brady can surpass all those marks within the next few years. He's 13,912 yards behind Manning (three-plus good seasons should eclipse that), 111 touchdowns (another three-plus good seasons should do the trick) and 14 regular seasons wins (that could happen as soon as next season).

So while Peyton goes out on top, and is one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the league, Brady still has the edge.

But Brady has plenty of respect for his rival. Here's what he wrote on his Facebook page on Sunday:

Congratulations Peyton, on an incredible career. You changed the game forever and made everyone around you better. It's been an honor.
