Peyton Manning will make it official by publicly announcing his retirement in a press conference on Monday.

The five-time NFL MVP revealed to the Broncos that he planned to retire on Saturday and the press conference for his decision had already previously been established, according to ESPN.

Manning is hanging up his cleats after 18 years in the NFL, 14 with the Colts and four with the Broncos.

The Sheriff made four Super Bowls and won two Lombardi Trophies. He also leaves the game as the league's all-time leader in passing touchdowns (539) and passing yards (71,940), while being tied with Brett Favre for the most quarterback wins (186).

Manning will also go out on top, having won Super Bowl 50, 24-10, over the Panthers.
