The Texans cut running back Arian Foster on Thursday, so now the question becomes, where will the 29-year-old end up?

When healthy, Foster is one of the most productive backs in the league, but he missed 36 games in seven seasons in Houston, including 12 last year with an Achilles injury. Foster rushed for a career-low 163 yards in four games last season and played only 16 percent of Houston's offensive snaps.

Foster was set to make $6.5 million in 2016, but Texans general manager Rick Smith said last week Foster's salary wouldn't be the reason why they cut him. Regardless, Foster will have to take less salary and a diminished role if he wants to continue his NFL career.

Below are three places where he'd be a good fit.

Giants

New York has Rashad Jennings, who had a productive second season with the Giants, but three other backs shared backup duties. Foster has 249 career catches, so he could eliminate the clutter by taking over as the third-down back. Plus, signing him would save the Giants from wasting a first-round pick on a running back.

Lions

This one is easy. Detroit was the worst rushing team in the league last year, they just released Joique Bell last month and Foster could slip in seamlessly behind Ameer Abdullah in the Lions' pass-happy attack.

Bears

It'd be surprising to see Chicago replace one old running back (Matt Forte, who they cut last month), with another. But Jay Cutler loves to dump it off to his running backs, and that's Foster's forte (see what I did there?).
