Most mock drafts have North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz going to the Browns with the second pick of the draft.

One would think that Cleveland would want to protect its prized investment, but that could be a problem now that its best lineman, center Alex Mack, voided the last three years of his contract on Wednesday, according to ESPN.

Mack had $24 million left on his deal, ESPN reported, but his agent said he could still return to Browns, who drafted him 21st out of Cal in 2009. The 30-year-old, who has missed only 11 games in seven seasons with Cleveland (all due to a broken leg two years ago), has made three Pro Bowls, including last season.

He nearly signed with Jacksonville before last season, as the Jags offered him a $42 million deal for five years. But the Browns matched.

Carson Wentz Can Be Cam Newton-Like Presence For Cowboys

Cleveland allowed 53 sacks last season, which was tied for second most in the league with San Francisco (and one behind Tennessee), so unless the Browns want to add a name to this illustrious list, they better find a way to protect Wentz before they draft him.
