Robert Griffin III will get an opportunity to try and find a new home.
The Redskins revealed that they intend to cut the quarterback prior to the new league year beginning on March 9. Washington has been able to sever ties with the signal caller since Feb. 8, but have yet to do so in hopes they can deal him for a low-round draft pick.

"I see Robert getting an opportunity with another team," Redskins president Bruce Allen said via ESPN. "We've heard from some teams that are interested. I think he's going to have a choice of a couple teams that will let him excel in the future."
Griffin, 26, was the No. 2 overall pick in 2012 and went on to win Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. He then endured injury-plagued seasons before being deactivated for every game but one in 2015. The Redskins are still hoping to work out an extension with No. 1 starter Kirk Cousins.

Now that he's set to hit the market, where will this once promising quarterback end up? Here are three potential destinations for Griffin.
1) Bears
Jay Cutler gave only has one year of guaranteed money left on his contract. The Bears quarterback will turn 33 in April, so Chicago can use the draft and bring in Griffin as a way to start grooming possible replacements for him. RG3 also could be brought in to compete for the starting role and serve as a backup in 2016.
2) Panthers
2016 MVP Cam Newton isn't going anywhere, but they can bring in Griffin -- a similar-style quarterback -- as a contingency plan as they look to get back to the Super Bowl and win it this time. Other teams may be hesitant to bring Griffin in as a starter, so the Panthers can shore up their depth even further by adding him to the roster as a backup.
3) Seahawks
Seattle has its franchise quarterback in Super Bowl XLVIII champion Russell Wilson, but much like Carolina, it can bring in a similar-style quarterback to serve as the backup.
Other teams who will certainly be in the hunt for a quarterback either through the draft or free agency include the Browns, Chargers and possibly the 49ers -- depending on what happens with Colin Kaepernick.
