The Houston Rockets agreed to a significant trade before the deadline on Thursday, but the deal could be voided on Monday depending on the results of the additional physicals, MLive reported.

The Pistons agreed to acquire Donatas Motiejunas and Marcus Thornton on Thursday in exchange for veteran center Joel Anthony and protected 2016 first-round pick.

However, the trade could be shelved as Motiejunas' health remains an issue. According to the MLive report, the 25-year-old power forward underwent physical examination on Friday in New York to check his ailing back. However, the Pistons are planning to conduct more tests in Detroit before completing the deal.

"We've got a lot of doctors involved, so we need more time," Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy said.

The Pistons and the Rockets had until Sunday night to complete the deal, but the Pistons asked for a 24-hour extension. According to ESPN, Van Gundy has already confirmed that the league granted them one more day to study the deal before deciding whether or not to acquire Motiejunas.

Motiejunas, who is playing in his fourth season in the league, underwent back surgery last season and has yet to prove he is healthy after suffering setbacks earlier in the season. The Lithuanian also played in the NBA Developmental League earlier in the season to test his back.

The Rockets were considered one of the winners before the deadline after acquiring the first-round pick in the deal, but they could find themselves in a disappointing situation if the deal will be voided. They were very active before the deadline, as they were determined to get a first-round pick.

The Rockets, who are currently in eighth place in the Western Conference standings with their 28-28 record, also reportedly shopped former All-Star Dwight Howard. According to ESPN, the Rockets offered Howard to several teams, including the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat, in exchange for a frontline player and future first-round pick.
