Who's Next? ... It could be The Undertaker.

A WWE return could be a long-shot for former World Heavyweight Champion Bill Goldberg, but he still has entered the rumor mill as a potential opponent for The Undertaker.

Bill Goldberg Undeserving Of WWE Hall Of Fame

"The Deadman's" WrestleMania plans remain in flux, but things have taken a very interesting turn. Despite all the rumors, it's unknown at this point who the wrestling legend will face at the WWE's marquee event on April 3.

John Cena was the original opponent, but he's unlikely to return in time for WrestleMania due to his shoulder surgery, despite his latest tease. Plans for 'Taker vs. Braun Strowman have reportedly been nixed, while Kevin Owens was apparently shot down.

Booking Decisions WWE Needs For WWE Fastlane

The latest news is that The Undertaker's opponent is someone who isn't on the active WWE roster, according to The Wrestling Observer (via WrestleZone.com).

The logical choice would be Sting, who has long been rumored to face The Undertaker, but given his neck injury at Night of Champions, the fact that he's 56 and goes into the Hall of Fame the night before, it is anything but a given.

The WWE also had a chance to put this bout on last year, but opted for other plans instead.

Goldberg could be another choice, as noted by the Observer, if he's willing to make amends with the WWE. The former WCW and WWE World Heavyweight Champion has made it public knowledge he didn't enjoy his run in the company from 2003-04.

The wrestler was also agitated by WWE's tactics when it came to negotiating a potential return in 2014, which never came to fruition.

Still, when it comes to WrestleMania and trying to pack out spacious AT&T Stadium, the WWE may be willing to try anything. Goldberg vs. Undertaker would be a compelling, never before seen matchup, though it could be unlikely.

Both of these wrestlers have had tremendous streaks in their careers, adding some interesting background to a potential feud.
