Daniel Bryan was so insistent on keeping the severity of his concussion under wraps that he even lied to his wife about it.
The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion appeared alongside his wife Brie Bella for a "Good Morning America" interview on Tuesday. Bryan revealed that he hid his head injuries from everyone out of fear he'd be told he can't wrestle anymore.

"The more concussions you have, the more susceptible to them you are," Bryan said, admitting he concealed seizures from his wife.
Bella said she was caught off guard the first time she saw Bryan have an episode.

"I was with him with one of his seizures after a concussion," Bella said. "I mean, it scared me so bad, I just ... I lost it."
Bryan added: "I just implored her, 'Please don't say anything to anybody. If I tell them if I have a concussion, they're not gonna let me do what I do anymore.'"
The WWE Diva said she didn't know what to do, but decided to stay quiet so that Bryan wouldn't lose everything he worked so hard for. After the WWE doctors declined to clear him to return and a new test revealed the damage to his brain was worse than he thought, Bryan opted to retire.
The "Yes Man" announced on the Feb. 8 edition of RAW in his home state of Washington that he was calling it a career. With her husband's career over and a strong desire to start a family, Brie may be right behind him.
"Feeling and seeing everything he went through with his retirement, I just feel that it's time for me to hang up the boots," Bella said. "It's gonna be hard on me as well, but that day is definitely very close."
