Ronda Rousey is inching her way back to the Octagon and a potential revenge bout against Holly Holm.

"Rowdy" was back at the gym training again at the Glendale Fighting Club in California, just three months after her devastating loss to the now reigning UFC women's bantamweight champion, according to TMZ.

Ronda Rousey Could've Beaten Holly Holm With Patience

Holm kicked Rousey in the head to win by second-round knockout and became the first person to ever defeat her in the Octagon. It's a loss that sticks with Rousey all these months later.

Now, it seems Rousey is gaining some momentum when it comes to returning to the cage. It was expected that the UFC would have the two fight again at UFC 200 this July in Las Vegas, but the former champion's busy Hollywood schedule and her unknown recovery timetable made it a long shot.

Ronda Rousey's Mom Thinks She'll Lose To Holly Holm Again

Holm's camp had been insistent about not waiting that long for a showdown, and the UFC appeased them by booking Holm vs. Miesha Tate for Mar. 5 at UFC 197. If Tate dethrones Holm in that meeting, it would place doubt on a possible Holm-Rousey rematch due to the title being out of the picture.

Rousey was badly hurt during her fight with Holm at UFC 193 in November and there were a lot of question marks surrounding when she would have the ability to return to the MMA realm. The formerly undefeated fighter had some reservations herself about when she'd be able to strike a comeback.

"It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact," she told the media after the fight, according to TMZ.

Three months after that historic defeat, Rousey is once again working out with controversial trainer Edmond Tarverdyan, who doesn't have the approval of her own mother.

The pieces are starting to align for Rousey vs. Holm II, but this is just the first step toward what could be a highly-anticipated return bout.
