Russell Wilson is getting another lesson in the downside of dating a celebrity.
The Seahawks quarterback is mentioned in a libel and slander lawsuit that girlfriend Ciara has filed against her former boyfriend, rapper Future, according to theJasmineBrand.com, via Sporting News.
Russell Wilson Can't Think Of Anything Nice To Say About Ciara
And Wilson might not be too happy about it, according to HollywoodLife.com.
The pop singer is asking the Georgia Court to order Future to stop making negative statements about her publicly and to stop trying to ruin her career. And she wants him to pay $15 million for having already engaged in such practices.
"The singer says that she is bringing this lawsuit due to several false and defamatory statements made by the rapper in the press over the past year about her, all involving their son Future," theJasmineBrand.com reported.
Ciara also brought Wilson into the lawsuit without mentioning his name but using him as an example of Future making negative comments that have reached a wide audience.
"Following the parties break-up, both plaintiff and defendant embarked on new personal relationships. However, it is important to note that given Plaintiff's celebrity status, her relationship with her current significant other became highly publicized in April, 2015, and has been a subject of media attention since that time. Plantiff's new significant other is also a public figure."
The easygoing Wilson obviously backs his love interest, but may be trying to get her to drop her case, according to HollywoodLife.com.
"Russell supports Ciara in her suit, however, he's encouraged her to forget about Future," a source told HollywoodLife.com. "He knows she probably still loves him. That's cool because Russell isn't threatened."
HollywoodLife.com wondered how Wilson really feels about Ciara drudging up her past with Future.
"He'd much rather put her thoughts and energy into their relationship than worrying about her ex," our source revealed. "And we can't blame him! Since Future bashed Ciara on Twitter by calling her a 'b--ch' back in January, and then blasting the singer in a radio interview, Ciara has channeled much of her energy into fighting back -- and she's pulling out all the stops to make sure Future suffers."
