The stakes are high when Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar and Dean Ambrose battle it out at Fastlane on Feb. 21.

WWE Should Do Away With Fastlane

The winner of the Triple Threat Match will go on to battle Triple H at WrestleMania 32 for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on April 3. With the match, there are plenty of scenarios that can play out.

Here's a look at some of the potential outcomes for the Fastlane main event.

Potential Fastlane Opponents For Triple H

1) Main Event Mania

The most likely scenario will see one of the three stand tall and emerge as the No. 1 contender, rather than a screwy finish that prolongs the proceedings.

The least likely Superstar to win the match is Ambrose because he is the reigning Intercontinental Champion and has been booked the weakest out of the three. Still, a win for the "Lunatic Fringe" could set up a title-for-title scenario that would rival the Hulk Hogan vs. Ultimate Warrior classic from WrestleMania VI.

Lesnar is one of the biggest draws in the WWE, so Paul Heyman's client emerging victorious should never be ruled out. The WWE has done "The Beast" vs. "The Game" on several occasions though, including at WrestleMania XXIX, so it may shy away from another encounter between them.

Reigns is the odds-on favorite to win the bout because he's been involved in a lengthy feud with Triple H and should be due a return match after losing the belt in the 30-man Rumble Match. The WWE has had huge plans for the leader of the Roman Empire for the last few years, and another WrestleMania main event seems all but guaranteed.

2) Beastly Beat Down

Since his return to the WWE in 2012, Lesnar has seldom lost as a way for the WWE to keep him strong as one of its biggest attractions. It's hard to see him absorbing a pin fall loss at Fastlane, so the WWE will have to eliminate him from the equation some other way.

With Lesnar likely battling a member of The Wyatt Family at WrestleMania, there's a good chance he'll be taken out of the match by Bray Wyatt's brood, leaving Ambrose and Reigns to fight it out.

3) Triple Threat

The WWE creative team could have a swerve in store for Fastlane as perhaps more than one No. 1 contender will emerge. The past two WrestleManias have had Triple Threat Match main events.

At WrestleMania XXX, Daniel Bryan defeated Randy Orton and Batista, while last year, Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase to force an impromptu Triple Threat Match with Reigns and Lesnar. It's possible that some combination of the three -- likely Ambrose and Reigns -- will both somehow emerge victorious, necessitating a Triple Threat Match at the "Show of Shows."

4) Fatal 4 Way

Another possible outcome could see the match somehow end in a no-decision, with The Wyatt Family taking out Lesnar and either the League of Nations or The New Day interfering to harm Ambrose and Reigns.

This would lead to the makings of a Fatal 4 Way at WrestleMania between the three combatants and Triple H. This wouldn't be unprecedented, as such a match occurred at WrestleMania 2000, but that is widely seen as one of the lower-tier editions of the WWE's marquee event and probably shouldn't be replicated.
