The 2015 World Cup winner hasn’t been kind to Cristiano Ronaldo in year’s past. Clearly a member of #TeamMessi, Lloyd has taken pleasure in Ronaldo’s failures. She’s even gone as far as suggesting the three-time Ballon d’Or winner hangs his boots.
She’s just not willing to say it to his face.

To her credit, she didn’t ask for a selfie or an autograph, either.
The night wasn’t a complete wash for Lloyd. Minus an awkward encounter, the face of women’s soccer in America became the face of women’s soccer, period. Lloyd -- standing next to Lionel Messi -- was awarded her first-ever FIFA Ballon d’Or trophy.
Unlike Ronaldo, though, it will likely be her last.
FIFA isn’t exactly paying attention to a 33-year-old who plies her trade with the Houston Dash.
