Those Tim Tebow jokes were funny until you had to start Brian Hoyer in a playoff game.

The Texans QB was elementary at best in Saturday’s 30-0 loss to the Chiefs, finishing 15-of-34 for 136 yards. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he turned the ball over four times … in the first half.

Playoff QBs Who Aren't On Tim Tebow's Level Yet

Miraculously, head coach Bill O’Brien didn’t look elsewhere after halftime.

Despite a 9-7 record and an AFC South crown, it was only a matter of time before Houston’s QB by committee ran out of luck. The combination of Hoyer, Brandon Weeden, Ryan Mallet, the guy that changes your oil, was never going to be enough in the playoffs.

Proof Tim Tebow Will Never Play In NFL Again

Earlier in March, ESPN nearly pulled a prank, claiming the Texans were going to sign Tebow on a segment called “Overreaction Monday.” Naturally, it led to a few fire alarms being pulled in the Lone Star State.

In hindsight, it probably wouldn’t have been the worst idea in the world.

Make fun of Tebow all you want -- and you certainly can with his limitations at QB -- but at least he managed to win a playoff game.

As for Hoyer ...well, don’t expect Hoyer to get a chance to win his first-ever playoff game anytime soon.
