Much like a 16-year-old looking to obtain his driver’s license, some people should be forced to pass an exam before having a child. Cam Newton is one of them.

Cam Newton Still Not Popular In Religious South

The Panthers QB welcomed his son “Chosen” into the world this holiday season. On it’s own, the name doesn’t stir up controversy. “Chosen Newton” won’t even roll of the tongue well enough during roll call.

But of course, Cam decided to take it a step further.

Cam Newton Should Pray Tom Brady Wins NFL MVP

There are only two possibilities behind the motivation of naming your son “Chosen” when you wear a No. 1 jersey:

Either Newton was looking for a cuter way to call himself the "chosen one" -- which isn’t a stretch considering he once said that so much of his talents “have not been seen in one person," per AL.com -- or he’s already calling his son the "chosen one."

Neither would pass for a correct answer on a parenting exam.

It’s bad enough “Chosen” will be forced to grow up in the shadow of his father -- the likely 2015 NFL MVP. He didn’t need the Jesus-like pressure heaped on him too.

Fingers crossed he wears a No. 2 jersey like Jimmy Clausen when he’s older.
