Washington Redskins Rumors: Kirk Cousins Leads The 2016 NFL Free Agent Class [VIDEO]

The NFL season will end for 20 of the 32 NFL teams on Sunday. For many, free agency will be the first step toward building a playoff contender in 2016.

If they're lucky enough, Kirk Cousins will be there waiting for them.

Only Kevin Durant Can Save Washington

Josh Norman (Panthers), Von Miller (Broncos) and Brock Osweiler (Broncos) are in line to hit the market as well, but have proven to be too value to escape their current situation.

With that in mind, below are the top three unrestricted free agents that might be available for next season.

Kirk Cousins Wants Money For A Picture

Kirk Cousins, QB, Washington

It only took one December to change the perception surrounding Cousins.

The Washington QB finished tied for first in completion percentage (72.8), second in QB rating (121.1) and tied for fifth in TDs (10). Not bad for a fourth round pick out of Michigan State.

The state of the NFL is going a long way in increasing his value too.

Charlie Whitehurst, Ryan Mallett, Matt Cassel and Case Keenum are just a few of the backup QBs who saw action in 2015. It's a putrid enough list to scare any NFL GM into signing over a blank check to Cousins if Washington plays hardball.

Jason Pierre-Paul, DE, Giants

Jason Pierre-Paul has been disruptive since returning from injury (exploded hand), but not enough to finish. The 26-year-old has one sack all season and is struggling to wrap up opposing running backs in the backfield.

Expect another contract dispute in the offseason, opening the door for potential suitors around the league.

Eric Weddle, S, Chargers

Weddle will be on the wrong side of 30 in 2016, didn't receive a contract extension before the season and was placed on season-ending IR against his wishes on Monday.

He was also fined $10,000 for staying behind during halftime to watch his daughter perform in program sponsored by the Chargers' cheerleading squad. With an ugly divorce written all over it, expect Weddle to hit the market next year.
