The Jets are flying high right now, but that doesn't mean the oddsmakers expect them to make it to the Super Bowl.

Gang Green has won five straight games, which includes their latest heart attack-inducing 26-20 overtime victory over the Patriots on Sunday. The Jets are now 10-5 and control their own destiny.

A Jets victory or tie against former head coach Rex Ryan and the Bills would propel them into the postseason, while New York can also back its way in with a Pittsburgh (9-6) loss or tie against Cleveland on Sunday.

As it stands, New York would face the Bengals (11-4) on Wildcard Weekend, but things can change drastically in Week 17. The Jets could end up surpassing the Chiefs (10-5) and getting into the fifth seed in the playoffs. If the season ended now, that would mean a visit to Houston for a match with the Texans (8-7) in the first round.

There are plenty of different scenarios that can play out as the Bengals could swap spots with the Broncos (11-4), who currently own the second seed in the postseason picture. The Colts (7-8) also still have slight hope of winning the AFC South.

No matter who their opponents end up being, if the Jets get in the playoffs, they appear to be a dangerous team. Ryan Fitzpatrick has them rolling right now, Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall are a great 1-2 punch at receiver and New York owns the best run defense in the league, holding opponents to 81.5 yards on the ground per game.

The Jets are currently at +1600 to win the AFC championship and go to the Super Bowl, according to Bovada. Those odds are friendlier to bettors than the Patriots (+110), Broncos (+400), Chiefs (+700), Bengals (+850) and Steelers (+850). The Texans (+3300) are the only team that has higher-paying odds than the Jets.

It's a long, winding road to Super Bowl 50, but the Jets are the best bet to win the AFC championship.
