P.K. Subban may be a Grinch all year round on the ice, but he's spreading holiday cheer off of it.

The trash-talking Canadiens defenseman is known to claw his way under his opponents' skin when engaging in the 60-minute war that is a game in the NHL.

Most people around the league aren't fans of Subban's style of play, which includes him becoming the first player to ever get fined twice for diving/embellishment, but there's no doubt that what he did for children this Christmas was awesome.

Subban played the role of P.K. Santa, morphing the Montreal Children's Hospital into a Winter Wonderland for kids to enjoy just in time for the holidays. Subban shared a clip on his Twitter account of him appearing in Christmas pajamas and revealing the project, which he did with some help from Air Canada.

The hockey player has a seven-year, $10 million commitment to the hospital, which named the atrium in which the Winter Wonderland took shape after him, according to Yahoo Sports. Subban is just the latest in a long line of athletes who use their fame and fortune to go above and beyond to help out the community.

The Winter Wonderland included presents, face painting and games for the kids just in time to ring in the holidays. The commitment to the hospital is something Subban holds near and dear.

"I have the ability as of right now to encourage other people to get involved," Subban told NHL.com. "I may not always have that ability to get people to donate money and join my charity or my foundation or my events. But right now I do, so I'm trying to capitalize on that. Who knows? Hopefully I have that for the rest of my life, but why not do it now?"

On the ice, Subban and the Canadiens started out hot before a recent five-game skid. Subban is third in the NHL among defenseman with 23 points, while Montreal is 20-13-3 (43 points) and sits atop the Atlantic Division.

While he was spreading cheer for Christmas, Subban will be all business come New Year's Day when the Canadiens visit their Original Six rival Bruins in the 2016 Winter Classic in Boston.
