As the new year approaches, there’s no better time to look back at what has just passed by. The NFL has been wild this year, but these five games stand out above the rest.

5. Panthers def. Seahawks 27-23 (Week 5)

This was the first time the Panthers, who are now 14-0, started generating real undefeated buzz. They were written off before Week 1 once WR Kelvin Benjamin went down, but Cam Newton was just starting his MVP campaign. He announced his candidacy in this one, leading the Panthers back from a 20-7 deficit in the third quarter in Seattle.

Newton threw for 269 yards and a touchdown, and ran for 30 more yards with a second touchdown. Newton’s 26-yard touchdown pass to Greg Olsen with just 32 seconds left on the clock sealed the deal.

4. Ravens def. Browns 33-27 (Week 12)

This game was between two no-hope teams, but the rivalries bred in the AFC North run deep. These two teams wanted this game badly, and it became a wild affair. The scoring was started by a Ravens punt return touchdown, and ended on a blocked field goal being returned 64 yards for a score.

Josh Norman Is Making A Ton Of Enemies

This game also happened in the midst of Johnny Manziel’s latest meltdown, so when Josh McCown got hurt, we saw Austin Davis, not Johnny Football, come in and throw a 42-yard touchdown pass to Travis Benjamin.

3. Broncos def. Chiefs 31-24 (Week 2)

This game was an early thriller, and now looms unexpectedly large in the AFC playoff picture. This game featured one of the few happy moments for Peyton Manning, who threw for three touchdowns including a game-tying strike to Emmanuel Sanders with 36 seconds left.

The shock factor hit nine seconds later, when Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles fumbled and it was run back by Broncos DB Bradley Roby for the win.

2. Panthers def. Giants 38-35 (Week 15)

The Panthers leapt out in front of the Giants 35-7, but Big Blue, undaunted, stormed back to tie the game in the fourth quarter behind three second-half touchdown passes from Eli Manning. Cam Newton wouldn’t be denied, however, and led the Panthers to a game-winning field goal.

As exciting as the game was, two things stood out. First was the violent, nasty battle between Panthers CB Josh Norman and Giants WR Odell Beckham, which featured multiple punches thrown, and a vicious cheap shot from Beckham in which he got a running start and speared Norman in the head. The hit landed Beckham a one-game suspension.

It was also notable for Newton’s performance. He became the first player in NFL history to throw for 300 yards, rush for 100, and rack up five touchdowns.

1. Packers def. Lions 27-23 (Week 13)

2015 has been a trying season for Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, who lost WR Jordy Nelson during the preseason and has seen the passing offense dip significantly. Still, the finest moment of Rodgers’ season happened in this tilt.

Rodgers led the Packers back from a 20-0 second half deficit, and ended the game with a gorgeous, 61-yard Hail Mary touchdown pass to tight end Richard Rodgers. Rodgers finished the game with 271 yards and two touchdowns through the air, as well as 47 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown.

The game re-energized Green Bay, and decimated the Lions’ late push for postseason relevance.
