No. 3 North Dakota State (11-2) and its quest for a fifth consecutive FCS championship takes its next step on Friday when No. 7 Richmond (10-3) visits the Fargodome.
It hasn't exactly been the toughest road to the semifinals for the Bison. Montana and Northern Iowa proved to be of zero consequence, being beaten by a combined 60-19. A repeat performance would see the program's winning streak extend to 19 games.
Richmond's proved to be no slouch in playoff competition, either.
The Spiders dispatched William & Mary 48-13 in the second round before upsetting No. 2 Illinois State 39-27 in the quarterfinals.
