Derek Carr spent his entire day trying to elude defenders on an NFL field, but his Sunday wasn't nearly as interesting as his wife Heather's.

While Derek was leading the Raiders (6-7) to a 15-12 victory over the Broncos (10-3), on Sunday in Denver, his wife ran out of gas on a free-way off ramp in Dublin, Calif. Heather had her dog and her son in the car with her and was seemingly stranded until a cop came by to see what was going on.

The police officer, who was unaware that Heather was the wife of the Raiders quarterback, located a gas can, filled it up and brought it back to her so that she could safely drive home.

"In this day and age, we do a lot more than catch the bad guy," a spokesperson for the Dublin Police Department told TMZ.

Heather chronicled the entire ordeal on Instagram, thanking the Dublin PD:

While the dramatic ordeal was certainly interesting, here are five other engaging facts about Heather Carr:

1) She Saved Derek

The Raiders quarterback's star was rising when he was in college, and he admittedly let it go to his head. Derek, who attended Fresno State along with Heather, said he credits his wife for his turnaround and humility. "I was out running around, living the life. Everyone wanted to hang out with the Next Big Thing, and I soaked it up like an idiot," he told the New York Times. "I want to go back and punch that guy in the face."

2) First Born

The Carr family's first-born son, Dallas, was unfortunately born with many complications. Dallas had a medical condition that tied up his intestines and took three surgeries to correct, but he was able to make a full recovery.

3) Second Coming

Derek revealed in October that he and Heather are expecting their second child as the Carr Family continues to grow.

4) Religion

Much like her husband, Heather is a Christian and her religion is a big part of her life. She loves watching her husband take the field on fall Sundays, but as she wrote on Instagram, she knows Sundays are also a time for prayer:

5) Family-Oriented

Perhaps an attribution to her faith, Heather appears to revel in spending time with her family and frequently shares posts including them on social media.
