Update: Ronda Rousey is in fact attending the Marince Corps Ball with Lance Cpl. Jarrod Haschert after some uncertainty about her status, according to TMZ. "Rowdy" caught an early plane ride and is happy to be attending the ball, despite admitting that she'd by "crying and eating ice cream" if she didn't commit to the ball.

Ronda Rousey's knockout may also have ramifications on a certain marine who has a crush on her.

Lance Cpl. Jarrod Haschert asked "Rowdy" to go to the Marine Corps Ball with him this summer and she accepted, saying she'd "totally go" and making his dreams come true. Those dreams may have turned into a nightmare thanks to one swift kick from Holly Holm.

Jarrod Haschert Feared His Date With Rousey Would Be Off

With the ball happening on Friday, Haschert doesn't know if Rousey will be attending or not.

"Jarrod said he hasn't heard anything yet," his mother, Caroline Haschert, told NJ1015.com. "He said, 'All I know is I'm going in the hopes she'll be there,'"

Travis Browne May Have Shocking Female Competition For Ronda Rousey

Rousey was knocked out and defeated for the first time ever when she lost her belt to Holm on Nov. 15 at UFC 193, and she is on the long road to recovery after that grueling blow. It could be that lengthy healing process that is keeping her from going to the ball, or maybe, she's been so wrapped up in the loss that she forgot all about it.

"It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact," Rousey told ESPN The Magazine in an interview published earlier this week.

There has been a lot of push for Rousey and Holm to have a rematch at UFC 200 from Las Vegas in July, but it remains to be seen.

Another potential problem facing Haschert could be the fact that the MMA fighter is dating Travis Browne, but Rousey said as recently as October that she still planned on attending. While Haschert was wondering what Rousey's status was for the ball, she was out and about in Los Angeles on Thursday engaging in a public make out session with her boyfriend Travis Browne, according to People.

The marine had some trepidation about "Rowdy" living up to her word in October when he heard about her relationship with Browne.

"Damn. I really hope she doesn't back out," Haschert told TMZ at the time.

Unfortunately, barring a major surprise, it looks like his fears may become a reality as Rousey doesn't seem as though she's attending the ball.
