Dallas Cowboys Rumors: Jerry Jones Comments Suggest Jason Garrett Firing A Possibility [VIDEO]

Jerry Jones is in denial, and Jason Garrett should be afraid.

Very, very afraid.

Cowboys Don't Have Problem With Greg Hardy But Won't Keep Players Who Violate Travel Dress Code

The owner and architect of a team that let its 1,800-yard rusher exit via free agency in the offseason in DeMarco Murray but kept a backup quarterback that had not won a game he'd started since 2012 (Brandon Weeden) and then watched his starting quarterback and star receiver go down early in the season, is blaming Garrett -- the Cowboys coach -- and his staff for the team's 4-8 record in 2015, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

"I am stunned that we haven't been able to win more games without Tony," said Jones, whom the Star-Telegram reported signed Garrett to a five-year, $30 million extension last offseason.

"And I would have thought that we could have coached it up enough, and put it together enough, that we would not have lost those games without Romo early. We would be in better shape than we are right now."

Jerry Jones' Support Of Greg Hardy Could Be Dwindling

Jones offered only tepid enthusiasm after Dallas' 19-16 victory over the Redskins that kept them a game out of first place in the porous NFC East.

"We won on will out there tonight and not on tactical mastery," Jones said, according to The Dallas Morning News. "That's not a criticism, but that's where we are a as a team."

But that is a criticism in the context of his overall comments of where his team stands.

"I look at it at 4-8 and won't look at it any differently as we move up the ladder until something really special happens," Jones said, according to the Star-Telegram.

It's the latest in a series of puzzling comments from the mouth of the Cowboys boss this season.

Jones has said he thinks defensive end Greg Hardy, who is dealing with backlash from his 2014 domestic violence charge, is a leader on the team. He called Patriots quarterback Tom Brady a man of great character simply because Brady's wife, supermodel Gisele Bundchen, is beautiful.

Jones also is the one who kept backup quarterback Brandon Weeden on the roster, despite the fact that he never won another game since going 5-10 for the Browns in 2012. Weeden lost four games as starter Tony Romo was sidelined with a broken clavicle. The Cowboys also were without wide receiver Dez Bryant for seven games.

Whether Jason Garrett's job should be in jeopardy is debatable; nevertheless, it might be. And that's because Jerry Jones could be greatly misinformed on what is actually going on in Dallas.
