That 7-0 undressing the U.S. women's national team was supposed to deliver Trinidad and Tobago was canceled on Sunday. U.S. soccer deemed the artificial turf at Aloha Stadium "not suitable to hold an international soccer match."

Hope Solo The Wrong Person To 'Inspire' Young Players In Hawaii

"We extend our sincere apologies to those fans who were scheduled to attend the U.S. Women's National Team match in Hawaii," U.S. Soccer spokesman Neil Buethe said in a statement, per U.S. soccer. "Player safety is our number one priority at all times and after a thorough inspection throughout the day, we determined it was in the best interest for both teams to not play the match.

"We regret not being able to play in front of our fantastic, loyal fans."

Hope Solo Still Facing Domestic Violence Charges

The bigger embarrassment actually would've been playing another international friendly against a lowly CONCACAF side. Haiti and Costa Rica already suffered combined 28-2 defeats during the USMNT's current victory tour.

There was no need for Trinidad and Tobago to suffer the same fate.

Fortunately for them, players like Hope Solo took to Twitter to voice their concerns.

Thursday's friendly in San Antonio will also feature turf. There's no need for it to be played, either.
