Sports fans are ridiculous and perhaps that was never more evident than when legions of Packers supporters jumped down the throat of Olivia Munn.

Surely the actress was to blame for the struggles of Aaron Rodgers and the perennial NFC North-leading Packers right? The actress, who has been dating the quarterback since May 2014, lashed out at one reporter for using her as one of the reasons for the team's difficulties earlier this season in an ESPN article.

Aaron Rodgers, Olivia Munn Engagement Rumors Swirl

With the Packers dangerously close to losing to the Lions for the second time this season on "Thursday Night Football," it appeared the pack of critics was set to take aim at Munn again. Rodgers and Green Bay (8-4) trailed Detroit (4-8), 20-0, heading into the third quarter in a game they needed to win to keep pace with first-place Minnesota (8-3).

Then, the team orchestrated a second-half comeback only to apparently fall short until a face mask penalty on Devin Taylor gave Rodgers and company one final play with time expiring. The 15-yard penalty put the two-time NFL MVP in Hail Mary range, and he found Richard Rodgers on a 61-yard heave with no time left to give Green Bay a 27-23 win.

Adrian Peterson, Others React To Packers' Win

It's ridiculous, however, in a game that should have had no bearing on Munn, that there was even a thought of people possibly revolting against the actress once again if her boyfriend didn't orchestrate a tremendous comeback. The "Newsroom" star had absolutely no control or influence on what went down on the field, yet she's been fending off critics left and right.

It all stemmed from an article by ESPN's Rob Demovsky, who wrote a piece speculating that Munn could be part of the problem.

"Possible off-field issues?: A longtime NFL agent told me recently that when he sees one of his top-performing clients play differently, as Rodgers has of late, the first thing he wonders is if something is going on in his personal life. There's no indication that Rodgers' relationship status has changed. Lions reporters said they spotted Rodgers' girlfriend, actress Olivia Munn, at Lambeau Field on Sunday. Sometimes it's easy to forget that professional athletes have lives away from the field, and you never know what could be going on in their personal lives."

Munn lashed out at the writer on Twitter, but after Thursday, Munn's social media reaction was cute and she went from defending herself to supporting her man.

Perhaps Munn's perfect Twitter reaction is a sign that the critics of her relationship will finally disappear for good. Maybe the Hail Mary was as big for her as it was her boyfriend and his team.
