The two most prolific Liga MX clubs in recent years will do battle on Wednesday when America hosts Leon in the quarterfinals of the Apertura Liguilla.
Both clubs were considered heavy favorites entering the season, but now only one will be able to march on to the final four. America were unable to clinch a higher seed against Pumas UNAM in Week 17. A 1-1 draw dropped Las Aguilas to No. 6 in the table.
Leon fared much better against Dorados, clinching the No. 3 seed with a 3-0 victory.

What They're Saying
America manager Ignacio Ambriz (via Univision): "The fans can rely on us to be champions. We know we'll be strong with their support. Tomorrow [Wednesday] we'll work hard to recover our players and get ready for the Liguilla."
Leon striker Mauro Boselli (via Esto): "It's very emotional to win the title two times and I think winning it this time would have more value. Now that the club has been able to qualify for the Liguilla, we're about to embark on our important times. I think this is more than an individual effort. This is a team effort and I'm very happy to have another chance at [winning the title]."
