Michelle Beadle 'Crossover' Cancelled By NBC Sports: What's Next For Ex 'SportsNation' Host? [VIDEO]

Michelle Beadle, the former host of ESPN's wildly popular SportsNation left ESPN a few months ago for $750,000 of NBC Sports money. Her show, The Crossover, failed to reach the heights of SportsNation and while Beadle's performance was lauded the ratings did not allow the show to stay afloat.

"Crossover is donzo. Thanks 2 the crew who tried their damnedest. I'll let ya know what's next. Access Hollywood on NBC- Blake Shelton 2nite," Beadle tweeted upon learning the news.

She did not seem too down about it judging from later tweets she posted. "Hey guys. Even Tom Hanks had Bosom Buddies! #letssmile," was posted to her Twitter account, followed by a photo of her grinning with a drink in hand.

"To do overs, b----es!!! pic.twitter.com/AblGn3qVFC," read her final tweet.

NBC Sports said they cancelled the program to allow for more NHL program with the 2013-2014 season on the horizon. NBC Sports' official comment on the matter was, "With the NHL returning, we decided to focus on our core sports and have created vertical programming blocks in that time period to do that. We look forward to Michelle Beadle and the production team continuing their work on other NBC Sports Group properties."

The Crossover struggled with poor ratings since its inception on Super Bowl weekend, and endured multiple problems, including the dismissal of original co-host David Briggs who struggled with on-camera chemistry with Beadle, and a confusing re-branding.

Despite the failure of The Crossover the future still seems bright for Beadle. She will be involved in NBC's coverage of the Winter Olympics, and still figures to co-host other shows on the NBC slate.
