Real Madrid's interest in Robert Lewandowski is peaking, especially with Karim Benzema's recent scandal.
The Spanish giants will be signing at least one No. 9 at the end of the season, with the possibility of two joining the club, per Marca. While the return of Alvaro Morata remains the romantic choice, Robert Lewandowski is leading potential candidates.

Lewandowski has provided a club-best 15 goals across all competitions for Bayern Munich this campaign. He's on pace to shatter last year's productivity, which saw him yield 23 goals in 43 appearances.

And yet -- despite a resounding goalscoring record -- Madrid is hesitant to make the call.
"You cannot deny that there is interest from Real Madrid," Cezary Kucharski, Lewandowski's agent said, per ESPN FC. "[But] since Robert signed the contract at Bayern [in January 2014], we have not talked about a transfer with representatives of Real Madrid."
That needs to change as early as yesterday.
More than Benzema's future is on the line in Madrid. Even Cristiano Ronaldo's future has come into question.
