Holly Holm scored a major upset over at UFC 193, knocking out erstwhile undefeated Ronda Rousey in the second round to become the new UFC Women's Bantamweight champion.
Holm, who had been conspicuously quiet heading into UFC 193, kept her focus despite a scuffle that almost erupted yesterday at the weigh-in.

The former boxer seemed to be pretty much in control and had studied Holm well. That included avoiding Rousey’s patented armbar which Rousey tried to use after a clinch and take down in the first round.
The end came in the second round when Rousey went on the offensive but got caught with some counter punches. Holm unleashed a couple of left hooks and the end came with a perfectly timed left-foot kick that landed smack into Rousey’s jaw.

Holm made a couple of breakthroughs such as lasting beyond one round and of course handing Rousey her first defeat in the UFC. She now becomes the new title holder and remains undefeated at 10-0.
"Getting in here I just had so much love and support, I just thought 'How can I not do this with all that love?'," Holm said after the monumental upset.
"I had the best coaching - from stand up, to grappling, to wrestling - this team right here, this right here is priceless.
With Holm’s win, such changes the whole UFC landscape and leaves a lot of questions on the table.
Will there be a rematch? What happens now to all those plans possibly pitting Rousey and Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino?
