Another opponent, another heap of high praise for Kristaps Porzingis, this time from the highest order in the NBA.
LeBron James was complimentary of the No. 4-overall pick ahead of Friday’s contest. After watching a potential game-winning three-pointer Wednesday night -- which was waved off by referees -- James highlighted Porzingis’ confidence and ability.
Kristaps Porzingis Already Better Than Patrick Ewing
“They gave him an open shot,’’ James said, per New York Post. “I don’t know why. He’s a very good 3-point shooter. He’s confident in his ability and he should be.”
The numbers bear out.
Kristaps Porzingis The Only Reason To Root For The Knicks This Season

In four Knicks victories, Porzingis is shooting 33 percent from three-point range. Kevin Love, by comparison, is only shooting 29.1 percent under the same circumstance.
Even Porzingis’ FG percentage is slightly higher this season, holding a 39.8 to 39.1 percent advantage.
If only Carmelo Anthony was an attractive enough teammate, James would be running the point with a 7’3” Latvian capable of burying it from distance and staying in shape.
